As someone that wanted to play FF7R on release, but didn't want to go get a ps5, I passed on it. Same thing with FFXVI. Now that my desire to play either has died down, I don't see myself ever spending (full price) on either of them for PC.

Agreed! Maybe silly, but when FF mainline games, even if they were ports, finally appeared again on Nintendo systems made me happy. I didn’t buy them all because I own them on other platforms, but I never played XII the Zodiac Age. It was a fantastic port. Same applies to Crisis Core; it’s a very good Switch port. Still, while I’m happy Nintendo and other platforms will join in on the fun, it does make me sad that the smaller Square-Enix titles will fade out. There are some weird ones, but it means that stuff like Neo The World Ends With You will be done. They had some great games for the past few years. Shame they didn’t enough to support them during release

Im ready to fully dive into remake, finish crisis core remake and then start rebirth. I wanted the experience of having at least parts 1 and 2 to play seamlessly.. So.. with Remake, crisis core remake, and Rebirth im looking at around a 200 hour minimum. This blows my mind.

If anything, FFVII Remake Part 3 is an even BETTER spot. They will probably focus even harder on it knowing the rest of their catalog has major issues/questions.

I've done some deep dive on this and the game does look better. I hope they keep their promise of fixing the online because that was my biggest gripe. I really do think the game was a lot of fun and had a lot of personality. But like any fighter, they need to get some characters: WB has licenses for the LOTR movies: Gandalf, Aragorn, and Sauron would be some big hitters. WB has licenses for the Harry Potter movie characters: I think they had issues with this because of some dispute and scrapped Harry and Ron... glad they're trying, because getting Harry (Ron, Hermione, etc as costumes), Voldemort and Dumbledore in there would be huge for them. LOTS of old school action cartoon characters: Space Ghost (Coast to Coast personality would be hilarious), Ren from Pirates of Dark Water, Captain Planet, Thundarr the Barbarian, Johnny Quest characters, Venture Brothers characters (Specifically Brock Samson... who doesn't want Brock Samson?) and so many more. Here's hoping.

I never watched Invincible or The Boys so yes, this game has like 0 guest characters, for me.

The Final Fantasy Remake series shouldve been in the tone of the Demo. No cutesy little chocobos. No Major female characters sounding like Disney Princesses. No Goofy/Dorky elements like searching for kitty cats to give to little children or Soldiers Picking flowers. The gamers who played this in the 90s arent teens anymore. Ive seen people trade in FF7 remake 3 chapters in, because of the Dorky/Goofy tonality mixed in the story. And dont get me started on the MESS of an ending. FF7 Fanboys like Max arent helping the situation. 🤣

I always thought Holy was blocked by Sephiroth in the original. Then when he was defeated by Cloud, he was weakened to the point he could no longer hold back Holy. Holy calls the lifestream with prayers from Aerith.

I have mixed feelings about how they made Joker look.

"Sleazy and lame" is MSHvSF in a nutshell. And I say that with fondness for the game, as it was my first Versus game (I didn't have easy access to XSF, plus I wasn't interested; I wasn't interested in MSFvSF either, but it was 5 minutes away in my laundramat and everyone else was playing it, so I followed suit). XSF was Capcom taking a hatchet job to MSH to try and remove the infinites in _that_ (Flying Screens everywhere!), which only made the infinite siutation worse! Also, the presence of the SF characters actually messed up the far mor delivate balance MSF had wjth regards to combos and super usage - in MSH, super gain was pretty slow, not counting the gem that refilled your super gauge. Supers were strong, but they weren't meant to be used in _every_ combo, so you relied more on regular chains until you could land a combo with a super. The SF characters weren't designed for the Marvel engine (though Dhalsim and Bison adapted well), so to put them more on even footing, Capcom gavw them reallt strong supers ane jacked up thw gauge generation so you could always have access ro them (this was before the game became an infinite fest). But this also meant that the X-characters gad far more access to supers as well. So the game degenerated into air combo into super x N, which was a far cry from the more varied combo routes in its predecessor (again, infinites notwithstanding). I really wish we got a Marvel Superheroes 2 or XCOTA2. But oh well. The genie can't be put back in the bottle at this point.
